POSITION PURPOSE Provides a variety of human resources services for an office, subsidiary, remote location or specific unit. Performs investigations, assists with salary administration and benefit liaison functions. May travel to regional locations as dictated by business needs. Ensures compliance with all legal and corporate guidelines. Researches and analyzes data pertaining to human resources. JOB FUNCTIONS
Conduct investigations of complaints concerning salary, discrimination, and all human resources matters; documents legally defensible actions or results.
Works with managers on resolving disciplinary actions with office employees and drivers.
Meets with drivers and assists with programs aimed at driver retention.
May travel to assigned locations based on business demand. These to include all dedicated, regional and Xpress Global, and Total facilities as assigned.
Represents the company at unemployment hearings, workers comp hearing, etc; negotiates settlements within guidelines.
Facilitates human resources policies and procedures to management at outlying facilities and dedicated locations.
Reviewing requests for accommodations under the ADAAA. Reviewing medical documentation and possibly communicating with physicians to determine if an employee has a disability and working to find an accommodation that is both reasonable and effective.
Working with managers to implement reasonable accommodations for employees.
Resolves complex or difficult employee issues through direct contact with employees and/or management.
Provide support to the Employee Relations Manager and other team members.
May offer support and guidance to managers who have employees on leave.
Determining if an employee qualifies for a leave extension if they cannot return from Family Medical Leave within the timeframe allotted.
May Determine whether or not employees qualify for Family and Medical Leave or Personal Medical Leave by evaluating their need for leave and their time with the company.
Coordinates training for facilities, (i.e. Management Training, etc.).
Coordinates and schedules quarterly random non-dot drug screen for shop personnel.
Assists in the coordination of company events (i.e., Wellness events, Driver Appreciation, Benefits Fairs, etc.).
Maintains and improves employee morale and satisfaction. Recommends programs and coordinates events to raise morale and retain office and driver personnel.
Handles terminations of office employees, shop employees and assist with disqualifications or discharges of drivers. Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation.
Ensures compliance of Fair Credit Reporting Act during the disqualification process of drivers and office applicants.
Ensures compliance of all Federal and State laws at all assigned locations and during all investigations, terminations, corrective actions, etc.
Assist the Compensation department with the Employee Performance Review due dates. Provides guidance and assistance to managers in the timely completion of employee reviews.
Assist with salary administration by reviewing salary offers and making sure the offer fits within the salary range and does not create a disparity.
Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.
Ability to work on an USX site or USX customer location site while performing the essential functions of this position.
May include other duties as assigned by Management.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
